Art criticism and blogging.

Art F City’s regular features bring some of the country’s best art criticism and journalism to the forefront. We demystify the art world by creating fun accessible prose, and tirelessly work to historize and critique online and offline art, as well as expose new and emerging art.
In 2015, we looked back at the online world, chronicling the blog world of ten years ago through to today, and reviewing online shows produced as long ago as ten years. We also looked critically at scores of exhibitions for our popular chat series, “We Went To” in which we visit new and established galleries and discuss art.
Public programming.

Art F City uses the blog to identify issues that concern artists and address them in physical spaces. For example, in 2015, AFC continued its dedication to addressing the affordable housing situation in New York by producing a six-hour conference in partnership with the Queens Museum. The conference aimed to give creative New Yorkers the tools to help create better neighborhoods, find and keep their rents low, and even purchase real estate and studio space. This conference is now a biannual event.
Special projects.

Art F City is known for its interest in producing one-off exhibitions, limited edition art works, and performance stunts. In 2013, for example, during the United States government shutdown that cut off the National Zoo’s pandacam, we filled the void, dressed up like pandas and livestreamed ourselves 24/7.
In 2015, we formed Fine Art Gallery, an itinerant project space/curatorial platform, and transformed a derelict hotel room in the Ocean Terrace Miami, into an installation, functioning gay bar and homage to shuttered gay dive bars.

From URL to IRL, how does an artist stake out their territory in the 21st Century? By teaming up with peer-run initiatives outside the scope of traditional institutions to skillshare and collaborate.
Enter, the Art F City Workshops, an education-initiative led by artists, educators and art-world insiders designed to give artists the tools they need to get ahead. From learning how to make an online exhibition to figuring out a digital archiving plan for your artworks, these workshops not only give attendees the skills they need to work in more digital mediums but help them to manage their art online and off.
Your donation will help educate more artists and arts professionals.
